Catonsville is also the home of two excellent public colleges. The first is CCBC Catonsville (formerly known as Catonsville Community College) which was founded on the land of the historic Hilton Mansion which still stands to this day, and serves as the administartion building. Catonsville Community College offers excellent courses competitive with four year colleges and a wide variety of associate degrees. The second is the University of Maryland Baltimore County which is the local branch of the University of Maryland System and offers a wide variety of bachelors, masters, and graduate degrees. Also close by is Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland.
